About the Author
Ann Robbins Phillips
I am mother to 5 children and grandmother to 15. Writing has always been a part of my life, whether I was making brochures for church or our varied businesses, or just making elaborate "lists" to organize our lives. One friend wrote the other day,"I remember that you wrote, even when we were in school!!" Eventually you come to the place that you either make that last stretch to fulfill your dreams or you move on. I wanted to show my children that, no matter your age, go for your dreams. Don't end your life wishing you had. Just do it!
Other interests of mine brought the muse for my writing. Genealogy and history. I love researching my family dating back for many generations. My research has brought me many colorful family members. My "historical fiction" books are based loosely on the lives of those family members.
Revenge is partially based on a story of distant family members in Jackson County, North Carolina where a "feud" took place between the Hoopers and the Watsons. I am kin to both sides. My mother is a Hooper. Her grandfather married a Watson. When the feud occured, a nine year old boy witnessed those atrocities. His true name was believed to be Leander Watson. My story is a fiction of his return for "Revenge". I hope you enjoy reading Revenge as much as I did writing it.
I settled into and finished Book TWO: Bad Blood, then book THREE: "Sorrow" that carries this family through two more generations. Book FOUR, Dugan Holler, brought the series to an end. Once you read the books, please do a "review" in Amazon.com and other social reader sites, if you will, and I would love it if you would come back to this site and send me a personal note. Send me any questions about the characters and tell me who was your favorite.
A great outlet has come from my writing. I speak to historical societies and genealogy groups about writing their stories and preserving them for future generations....an heirloom of the heart. Contact me if you like me in your area. It would be my joy to challenge others to write their family history and leave them where those that come behind us can readily find them.
Thanks for visiting my website. I hope we meet in the near future. I hope to maintain a current list of where I will be in the months ahead (See My Schedule). If you are close by, come and say hello.
I am a member of the Chattanooga Writers Guild, Knoxville Writers Guild, Tennessee Mountain Writers, Alabama Writers, and the North Carolina Writers Network. They have great programs and training for writers to help them accomplish their goals.
